Revismo.\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Revismo\u2019s engineers carried out the <strong>development and engineering work for the detailed design of a 77 MW wood-waste thermal power plant in Belgium<\/strong>. The project covered the development and design of a wood-chip feeding and dosing system. Its objective was to provide the thermal power plant with a reliable, fire-safe, and wear-resistant solution. The plant primarily burns wood waste that can no longer be recycled, such as construction debris and demolition waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scope of engineering work and technical solutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The engineering work included developing technical solutions, CAD design, strength calculations, preparing an operation manual and production drawings, and developing an installation plan in accordance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The end client provided information about the required equipment functions, layout, and production capacity. <strong>Revismo carried out the development work and produced detailed engineering solutions for the entire system.<\/strong> Strength calculations, structural analyses, and the preparation of the related technical documentation formed a significant part of the work. Finite element analyses (FEA) were performed for operating conditions, lifting, overload scenarios, and maintenance operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ensuring wear resistance was critical to the system\u2019s performance because the material burned in the thermal power plant can be considerably more abrasive than conventional wood material. Particular attention was therefore paid to material selection, wear resistance, and weldability. The main structure was manufactured from S355 steel, while the wear-resistant components were primarily made from Hardox. AISI 316 stainless steel was also used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Purchased components were selected in cooperation with the client and the contractor to ensure their availability during both construction and the system\u2019s subsequent service life. Reliability was a key consideration, which resulted in the selection of higher-quality components despite their higher cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lifting solution and maintenance processes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More emphasis than usual was placed on simplifying equipment maintenance. This was necessary because of the equipment\u2019s large dimensions and weight, as well as the fact that most maintenance tasks must be performed while the overall system remains operational. A comprehensive operation and maintenance manual was therefore prepared, including descriptions of maintenance procedures, work sequences, and the necessary illustrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A separate lifting plan with drawings was also prepared, specifying the exact lifting methods and lifting points.
