Engineering calculations
Engineering calculations are an integral part of the development process of products, machines and structures. Correctly performed calculations provide assurance of product performance, reliability of technical solutions, safety of people, as well as the expediency of the materials used.
In most cases, the performed calculations are divided into two – so-called manual calculations, which are performed in Excel, and virtual calculations, i.e. simulations, which are performed using special software. Manual calculations are mainly for analysing simpler situations, which can be calculated in a simplified form. Simulations are used in more complex situations where manual calculation is not practical, either due to complexity or time.
