Interesting work by Revismo engineers – concert stage engineering and strength calculations

The Revismo team had the opportunity to create the technical solution for a concert stage.

The client wanted a modular load-bearing structure for a concert stage that could be dismantled and transported with little effort. The Revismo team developed the concept and carried out the engineering work. The size of the concert stage can be changed as needed by using a larger or smaller number of modules.

Strength calculations

Comment from Chief Engineer Mirko Arras: “The biggest challenge was carrying out the strength calculations, because the safety of people is critically important here. The wind and snow loads acting on the stage are very high, so the engineering calculations had to be approached differently from usual.”

The stage is used for large concerts and other events. In its maximum configuration it is the largest relocatable concert stage in Estonia. It is used where an event has to be held in a place with no existing stage, or where the existing stage is too small or does not have sufficient technical capability. For the stage owner, the advantage is that if an event does not require the full-size stage, it can also be set up in a smaller configuration, which is more cost-effective (shorter set-up and take-down time). The entire stage can be packed into truck trailers. Transporting the stage in its maximum configuration requires 5 trailers, each 13 metres long.
