It is used to determine the cause of failures, evaluate safety, verify compliance with standards and regulatory requirements or support critical engineering decisions.
During the assessment, we analyse the available documentation, technical data and the actual condition of the product or system. Where necessary, we carry out site inspections, engineering calculations or simulations to identify deficiencies, evaluate their impact and distinguish root causes from their consequences.
The result is a clear technical report containing evidence-based conclusions and, where appropriate, recommendations for improvement. It can support engineering decision-making, dispute resolution, CE compliance assessments and verification of product safety and reliability.

Defining the objective
Every project begins by establishing the purpose of the assessment and clearly defining the engineering question to be answered. We review the background of the case, relevant events and the decisions that will depend on the outcome.
Collecting technical information
We examine engineering drawings, CAD models, user manuals, maintenance records, photographs and other relevant documentation. Where necessary, we obtain additional information from project stakeholders or equipment operators.
Site inspection
If required, we carry out an on-site inspection, measurements and a detailed visual examination. The condition of the structure, machine or system is documented together with observations relevant to the technical evaluation.
Technical analysis
We assess the collected information in relation to the product’s design, operating conditions and applicable requirements. Where appropriate, we perform engineering calculations, strength analyses, simulations, risk analyses or other suitable evaluation methods.
Root cause evaluation
We analyse the relationship between possible causes and their consequences to determine which factors contributed to the failure, damage or technical issue. Our conclusions are based on verified evidence and engineering analysis.
Engineering report
All project information, observations, analyses, conclusions and, where appropriate, recommendations are compiled into a structured technical report. The report can be used for internal engineering decisions, conformity assessments, insurance claims and the resolution of technical disputes.

Engineering expert assessments at Revismo are carried out by Authorised Mechanical Engineer Mirko Arras, who has extensive experience in mechanical engineering and product development. In 2023, the Estonian Association of Engineers recognised him as Estonian Engineer of the Year.

At Revismo, expert assessments are carried out by Mirko Arras, the company’s Chief Engineer, Member of the Management Board and one of the company’s founders. He has more than 12 years of experience as a Chief Engineer and holds a Master’s degree in Product Development and Production Engineering from Tallinn University of Technology. His daily work involves solving complex engineering challenges, evaluating structures and providing technical justification for critical engineering decisions.
Mirko holds the professional qualification of Chartered Mechanical Engineer (Level 8), confirming his competence at the highest professional level within the field. In 2023, he was named Engineer of the Year by the Estonian Association of Engineers, recognising both his technical expertise and his contribution to the advancement of the engineering profession.
